International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

On 25 November 2025, the international community, led by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, gathered for an expression of profound solidarity. The Committee special meeting was held at the UN headquarters in New York, ECOSOC Chamber offering an opportunity for Member States, regional organizations and civil society to share messages of solidarity with the Palestinian people. Similar events took place at UN offices in Geneva, Nairobi, Vienna as well as others throughout the world. Statements: H.E.   On this International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Maldives stands firmly with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of justice, dignity, and self-determination. Maldivians first observed this day in 1982, a proud tradition, now burdened by grief that is much too heavy. Yet our solidarity has not weakened. It rests on shared values and a simple principle: no people should have to pursue self- determination and dignity in isolation. Today, the reality on the ground is stark. Israel, as the occupying power of Palestine, continues its aggression.
