Statement by the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 2025.

Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana

On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 2025, the Government of Guyana reaffirms its solidarity with the Palestinian people in their quest for a just and durable peace and the fulfillment of their inalienable rights to selfdetermination and a safe and secure homeland. This year’s observance takes place at a pivotal moment for the Palestinian people. It is a time when they are looking to the international community, including the United Nations, to consolidate its support for the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza and for an end to the violence in the occupied West Bank as part of the broader objective of advancing the two-state solution. The recent adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution 2803 (2025) and the endorsement of the New York Declaration for the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, are important and complementary pathways to this end. Guyana urges that diplomacy continue to prevail as we pursue the permanent resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. The Government of Guyana maintains our unwavering support for the two-state solution, as defined by relevant United Nations resolutions. We remain convinced that lasting peace will only be achieved when Palestinians and Israelis can live side by side in security, dignity, and mutual respect. We express our solidarity with the Palestinian people and will continue to contribute to international efforts to secure a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the question of Palestine.
