Statement of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania on the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People 2025.

TANZANIA GOVERNMENT

Tanzania reaffirms its principled position of support to the oppressed people of the world, including the Palestinian People. Consequently, Tanzania calls for continued dialogue which will lead to two state solutions with Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and prosperity. Further, Tanzania believes that a halt to hostilities is necessary if peace is to take root and blossom. Violence from both parties would only delay the long-awaited desire of a two-state solution and a peaceful and prosperous Middle East. Wars, conflicts and violence have and continue to cause wanton suffering to the people of Israel and Palestine, denying them of their basic human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the right to development. Tanzania has witnessed the plight of Palestinian people. Over the years, it has seen their yearning for statehood. Their calls for self-determination and peaceful and secure homeland have thus far gone unanswered. For this reason, Tanzania persists in extending its solidarity with the Palestinian people and underscore that durable peace in the Middle East would only come about upon the attainment of a two-state solution between the State of Israel and the State of Palestine
